VeryDarkMan recently threw some subtle shade at Asake by saying that only Wizkid left his record label with a fair balance when he departed. 

He expressed disappointment over how loyalty among artists seems to be fading. According to him, many artists agree to contracts with terms like 80% to the label and 20% to themselves, but once they achieve success, they forget the investments and commitments their label bosses made to help them rise.

 Instead of appreciating that support, they choose to disregard the agreement, often terminating contracts prematurely. Without naming anyone directly, VeryDarkMan hinted at a particular artist who recently gained fame but has already forgotten the person who helped bring him into the limelight. This trend, he suggests, shows a worrying lack of gratitude and professionalism in today’s music industry.
